I photographed Joey’s sister’s wedding in October of 2019, so getting to work with the same family was a dream! Heather and Joey’s wedding day was simply elegant and so full of love. They were just genuinely happy to be getting married and you can see it in every detail. Their first look happened at the famous Seelbach Hotel. The Seelbach’s luxurious and elegant hotel is a historic mainstay in Louisville, attracting celebrities and more for over a century with its grand architecture and lavish experiences. Heather and Joey left their own mark as they descended the staircase and headed across town to the Speed Art Museum to join friends and family for their ceremony.

The Speed is another Kentucky staple, marrying the classic and contemporary in art and design. Paying close attention to every detail, Heather and Joey filled the open space with elegance–from the white blooms from Country Squire to the sleek bridesmaid dresses–and made it their own, perfectly classic ceremony. The couple and guests danced the night away, celebrating a beautiful love story.
