While out in Utah for an amazing elopement alongside Happy Camper Films and State & Arrow, we felt as though we should try to create as much as possible. Utah not only has some of the most gorgeous land I have laid eyes on, but it also has a great deal of amazing venues as well. The White Shanty is one of them. State & Arrow Design Co. led this vision and I happily jumped on board. A few elements almost didn’t align, leading us to calling this shoot off multiple times before we realized we could just maybe pull it off. Seeing State & Arrow work their floral magic while driving to the venue was quite the treat. needless to say, these ladies are pretty freakin’ talented.
This bridal shoot was all about simplicity. Everything from the bride’s hair and make up, to the chic Lilian West gown from The Couture Closet she wore seemed to give off a perfectly, effortless vibe.
I had this rough vision floating around in my mind of an ethereal, bohemian bridal session that I just had to bring to life while in Utah. Originally planning to head to The Salt Flats, Antelope Island ended up being our destination of choice for a number of reasons. Anna & Colten were THE perfect models to bring my dreamy editorial styled shoot to life. I luckily had the help from my friends at State and Arrow to provide the most magical bouquet you see below. This landscape on this island is truly unlreal. You feel like you are driving through multiple countries within a few miles of traveling around the island. Anyone want to elope there for real?? I’m ready.
ugh vision for a while
While online galleries are how I prefer to initially send my clients’ their finished photographs, I still often love sending them a copy via a USB shortly after delivering their gallery in order to start them off with an easy place to store + transport their photos. While my branding and packaging continues to transform throughout the years, I have recently found USB Memory Direct amazing to work with. They are both quick to respond + offer suggestions on what USB/design would work best for your brand. Taylor with USB Memory direct led me on to these custom USB wooden hard drives with my logo engraved on them. They have a modern, timeless feel, which are two words I often use to describe my brand.
Making sure my packaging is aligned with my brand image is extremely important to me. I want every interaction I have with my client’s to be memorable, especially when it comes down to the final delivery. These custom USB drives not only look great, but they are quick to load, which is important when deliver large images to your clients. Excited to be able to use these throughout the year for my different photography sessions like family sessions, branding sessions & boudoir!
Sarah and Scott are the epitome of an adventurous couple + possibly the most laid back couple in the world. Upon first contact, I knew we were meant to work together. They were ready to throw traditions to the wind and start off marriage with an adventure. They may not have known exactly where they wanted to get married, but they did know the only witnesses they needed beside them were their dogs, Goose + Tag. Not surprising since they own Pet Station Country Club in Louisville, a boarding and daycare service for pets. Other fun facts about them include they love binge-watching + quoting The Office (but who doesn’t??), they adorably nicknamed themselves #sbsquared since both of their initials are “SB”, and since they roadtripped outwest for their elopement, they ended their trip with a honeymoon skiing trip to Breckenridge, CO.
Although originally thinking about heading to the mountains for their elopement, Sarah and Scott were open to suggestions on epic locations. I helped throw out some location ideas, which lead to Sarah & Scott falling in love with the idea of saying their vows in Moab, Utah. Fast forward a bit and there they were at the edge of a cliff at Dead Horse State Park in Moab, Utah ready to embark on this new and exciting journey, marriage.
There is something so simple, yet magical about the vast desert, and the view overlooking Dead Horse State Park was nothing short of spectacular. Yet the view somewhow seemed to become inferior to Sarah and Scott as they began to read their heartfelt vows to one another. Tears of happiness, lots of smiles, and a few laughs ensued as they laid out each commitment to one another. Their dogs, who patiently watched along each side of them, perked up with excitement as their mom and dad officially became a family.
We ended the evening with an epic portrait session, soaking up the last bit of sun during the most magical sunset. I am beyond glad these two had plenty of time to soak in all of the beauty with their pups by their side. To top things off, I headed to Moab diner for a night cap with our newlywed couple and the rest of our killer team. Did we all just become best friends?? Yup.
Lastly, I have to brag on the incredible team that helped pull off this amazing elopement. I got to travel with a kickass crew of creatives who all helped make the day perfection. Tyler and Allison of Happy Camper Films + Jamie and Adria with State & Arrow Design Co were alongside me and I am truly thankful to have been able to enjoy their talent & their company.
